Just starting this one. These videos are what I learned from. You will need a ball of yarn (I HIGHLY recommend the multi colored yarn as it makes it easier to see your rows and if you mess up a stitch as you go so correcting it can be done right away and not 10 rows down) and two size 8 knitting needles. A needle protector is nice because it holds your work on the needle when you are not working on it and I would highly recommend purchasing it. All other supplies can wait until you have the basics down. There are many videos in this series and I recommend doing them one at a time until you perfect the stage the video teaches. Good luck and if you need any help just comment and I'll do what I can!
Here are photos of my progress no two pictures are the same attempt. I'm sharing these so you can see that it takes many tries. The first three are my progress learning the knit stitch. The Next three are my progress of learning the purl stitch. The last one shows my current project (a scarf for my son done in a purl Garter Stitch (which means nothing more the doing purl in every row). As you can see I have stuck with the multi colored yarn for now as it helps me clearly see rows and if I made a stitch wrong as I go.
